Allah SWT described clothes the same way HE described Quran and Rain. He used the word (send down) just like Quran and rain are blessings from up above, clothing oneself is also a gift and a blessing from Allah.
It's such a great honour, a reminder to offer salat, to be nice to people and one of the most beautiful feeling in Islam.
When it comes to dressing, there are 3 things I think about. I am not perfect but talking about the way Islam makes me feel to people brings me joy and it's one way for me to be thankful to Allah so He can continue to guide me and I can continue to love it.
First, I ask myself if I can offer Salat in whatever OOTD I pick. We need to realize that we can't delay salat till we get back home at night cause we are not dressing appropriately. The next second is not guaranteed and we don't know for sure if we will be back. We don't want to get to our graves and realize we didn't offer the last salat cause we wearing tight clothes on the day we die. May Allah protect us
Second, I think about the teaching of Khadijah and it gives me that ginger of wanting to appear anywhere like a Muslim Queen. A Muslim woman carries the Islam flag every where she goes and carrying it properly is best. When you think about being an ambassador to Islam, you wouldn't pick clothes that are clingy cause everywhere we go we want to feel the feeling of doing something for Islam just by our appearance.
Third is my demand for respect not attention. As a female, every part of our body is naked and when we cover our nakedness in public men will lower their gaze. We wouldn't attract the wrong sets of men and friends who are not going to be beneficial to us will stay away.
Hijab is not just a scarf but covering of the entire body (nothing clingy) and it is true that Iman is in the heart, but what's in the heart is what will show.
If you need me to talk about how to combine your clothes, still looking good and not clingy please feel free to slide into my dm and I can share with you what I wear on what even if I don't wear my complete abaya.
May Allah continue to guide us all.
