These days, most of the "hey what's up we get gist" is actually now backbite and it's not only the person telling the gist that's doing wrong. It is also forbidden to listen to vain talk.
Quran 28:55 "And when they hear Al Laghw (dirt, false, evil, vain talk) they withdraw"
One has to avoid listening to some kind of gist from friends.
If we have friend that's always calling us or texting us to talk about another, it's not only the friend that's doing bad. The fact that we picked up the phone to listen or reply to the things he/she has to say about another is also not cool.
We should be mindful of the kind of friends we keep. If they are not texting and calling us about things that are beneficial,we have to find ways of withdrawing from them.
Quran 17:36 "Do not follow what you do not know. For the hearing, sight and the heart will be questioned"
Allah is going to question not just the things we say but the things we hear so if we listen to gossip about another person, we have to stop.
Moreover, how a person speak about another to us is how they will speak about us to another person.
We shouldn't just keep any kind of friends and it's actually funny cause the person we might be talking about might be conversing with Allah at that very moment and perhaps because of the fact that some people are backbiting about him/her, Allah will lighten his/her sins.Allah is indeed merciful.
So let's not give away our good deeds just like that cause talking bad about another is deeper than we think.
May Allah distance us from sins and forgive us allππ½
May Allah not erase our good deeds and give them to another person ππ½
May Allah continue to guide all our affairs ππ½
May Allah continue to protect usππ½
